Goals

Promoting the use of asphalt as a road construction material to municipalities, architects, engineers, landowners and other government entities. (i.e. counties, road districts etc.)

Marketing of full depth asphalt to the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department, counties, cities, towns, and developers throughout Missouri.

Informing, monitoring, and lobbying membership of environmental laws and rules that affect the industry.

Commitment of members of the Association to work with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department, counties, cities, towns and developers throughout Missouri in the area of communications, quality control and specifications.

Expand the information and communication network to and between members and customers.

Strategies

Understand the methods and procedures that all agencies within the state of Missouri use in their pavement selection process! With the help of the National Asphalt Pavement Association and data from other sources, convince and lobby for extensive use of full depth asphalt pavements.

Conduct meetings and seminars relating to environmental and regulatory issues and attempt to come up with guidelines and procedures for every member to use.

Encourage members to participate in workshops, task forces and training programs available to the industry and sponsor meetings (area or statewide) dealing with the areas in communications, quality control and specifications.

Member Participation encouraged to submit information and articles for our newsletter. MAPA staffs’ primary responsibility is to put submitted information together.

Workshops & Seminars in the local area, sponsored by local MAPA members, covering items of common interest to area members and invited non-members including local agencies.
